Do you remember the amazon rainforest fire last year?[2019] About 15% to 17% of the forest was destroyed. Well, that is not a big deal, is it not? Just 15% of the forest was destroyed.. That is the problem now, if 25% of the forest is destroyed, then the remaining forest will lose all it's moisture and therefore, dry out. This will result in lot's of micro-organisms, plants and animals dying, including us, humans. This is an example of deforestation, meaning: the clearing or thinning of forests by humans. This is one of the biggest global issues around the world. Let's dive into Deforestation, it's causes and solutions.

The island of Borneo in Indonesia has lost about 75% of their rainforests in the past 40 years. This is a clear example of deforestation. Borneo is not the only state that has a rapid case of deforestation. Many countries like Russia and Brazil are also suffering from deforestation. What causes so much deforestation?The following are some causes of deforestation. 

i)Agricultural and Livestock Production

About 80% of deforestation is caused by Agricultural and livestock activities. The countries who own the certain rainforests usually clear the land for more development.

ii)Illegal Logging 

Wood industries chop down trees for their wood, without the permission of the government. This results in deforestation.

iii)Mining

Oil and coal mining requires a great amount of forest land. This therefore results in deforestation. 

iⅴ)Overpopulation

The growing human population needs more land to live and land to get food. This results in thinning of forest land.

These are few of the causes of deforestation.

Deforestation is harmful to our environment and we should reject deforestation. Here are few of the solutions for  deforestation.

i) Government Regulations. 

ii) Eat less meat.

iii) Share the deforestation effects, causes and solutions to your family and friends.

iv) Reduce consumption of paper. 

Deforestation is very hard to stop. We all agree to that, but together we can make a difference. Start planting trees and recycle products. We can make a difference for a better life in Earth..🌎
